Social Action

We live the sacred commandment to pursue justice

We recognize that there are sharp social, economic, and racial injustices. Though these disparities are endemic to the fabric of our nation, they are not our destiny. We regularly organize volunteer events in partnership with houses of worship and nonprofits serving those in need, including domestic violence shelters, soup kitchens and food distribution programs, and refugee assistance programs. We are devoted to working towards and achieving true equality and justice through charitable giving, community service, experiential learning, and advocacy.

Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor is our social action program. It mobilizes our community through direct social action to meet urgent needs and learn about, advocate with, and volunteer in underserved neighborhoods and communities. We team up with local partners, community organizations, houses of worship, community centers, local businesses and individuals to create unique programming that enables us to focus on and together address urgent issues facing our nation such as domestic violence, hateful actions, homelessness and food insecurity.
This collaborative service-learning model provides the grassroots education and relationship building necessary to strengthen our community and prevent hate and violence through action. This relates to our larger bridge building goals by identifying cross-cutting issues that impact vastly different communities, and clearly defining these common needs to increase unity based on shared faith-based values of peace, justice, service, and charity.
Recent Love Your Neighbor projects include, a SNAP outreach event, volunteer day to bring awareness to domestic violence, household item drive for refugee families, food drive for the homeless, a visit with the West African communities of Harlem, a visit with the Yemeni community of Bay Ridge, and more.
